Taking New Steps, Scaling New Heights – Successful Convening of the Third Annual General Meeting of the Zhangzhou Canned Food Association
On November 28, 2022, the Third Annual General Meeting of the Zhangzhou Canned Food Association was successfully held at the Rongxin Crown Hotel in Zhangzhou, Fujian. More than a hundred participants, including Wang Jinshi, Deputy Director of the United Front Department of the Zhangzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Group of the Municipal Industry and Commerce Federation, Yang Longhui, Chairman of the Municipal Industry and Commerce Federation, and President of the General Chamber of Commerce, gathered together, along with representatives from relevant departments, guest speakers from sister trade associations, and member companies, marking a grand occasion.

Chairman Liu Youqian, on behalf of the China Canned Food Industry Association, warmly congratulated the successful convening of the meeting. In his address, Chairman Liu expressed gratitude for the rapid development of the canned food industry in the Zhangzhou region, both internationally and domestically, under the leadership of Chairman Lin Jie during his term. Chairman Liu highly praised Chairman Lin Jie for his tremendous efforts and contributions in making the "China Canned Food Capital" of Zhangzhou shine even brighter. Under Chairman Lin Jie's guidance, the canned food industry in Zhangzhou has continuously transformed and upgraded from low to medium-high end, with an improved industry chain, active product innovation, increasing production, and the adoption of internationally advanced equipment and production processes. The canned products exhibit characteristics such as a variety of types, numerous new products, and high-quality standards, contributing to the sustained and healthy development of the canned food industry.

Chairman Liu Youqian shared three hopes for the new council to better leverage its core capabilities of "cohesion" and "gathering strength." Firstly, he hopes that the new council will effectively utilize the "China Canned Food Capital" brand, expanding and strengthening the Zhangzhou canned food brand both domestically and internationally, setting a benchmark for the national canned food industry. Secondly, he hopes the new council will lead Zhangzhou's canned food enterprises to actively adapt to changes in the international and domestic markets, vigorously promoting transformation and upgrading, and pursuing a path of high-quality development. Thirdly, he hopes the new council will continue to vigorously seek support from local governments, maintain close contact and cooperation with the China Canned Food Industry Association, and enhance the new momentum for the development of the canned food industry in Zhangzhou.

Subsequently, at the third session of the first member meeting of the Zhangzhou Canned Food Industry Association, all the members deliberated and approved the "Work Report of the Second Council" and the "Financial Report of the Second Council" presented by President Lin Jie of the second council. The meeting also voted in favor of the "Third Charter of the Zhangzhou Canned Food Industry Association (draft)" and elected a new council and board of supervisors. Mr. Hong Yahong, Vice President of Fujian Zishan Group Co., Ltd., was elected as the new chairman of the council, and Mr. Hong Kunshan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fujian Haishan Food Co., Ltd., was elected as the new supervisor of the board of supervisors. Mr. Chen Junxing, Chairman of Zhangzhou Chenzi Trading Co., Ltd., was elected as the new Secretary-General of the Council. The meeting decided to confer the title of "Founding Chairman" on Mr. Hong Changshui, the chairman of the first council, and the honorary title of "Honorary Chairman" on Mr. Lin Jie, the chairman of the second council. At the same time, the meeting also decided on the appointment of six honorary chairmen and three deputy secretaries-general.

In a solemn handover ceremony, President Lin Jie of the second council formally handed over the association's flag to President Hong Yahong of the third council, symbolizing the continuity and promotion of the association's excellent traditions.

The newly appointed president, Hong Yahong, made a statement on behalf of the new council. She openly acknowledged that the Zhangzhou Canned Food Industry Association has gone through two terms, with its member enterprises actively advancing and continuously progressing in the canned food industry. She expressed her commitment to lead the new council in building upon the excellent work of the previous two councils, fostering innovation, embarking on a new journey, and guiding the association forward with ideals and beliefs. The focus will be on unity and concerted efforts to create a new future for the canned food industry in Zhangzhou.

Finally, Wang Jinshi, Deputy Director of the United Front Work Department of the Zhangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Group of the Municipal Industrial and Commercial Federation, gave full recognition to the work of the Chamber of Commerce over the years and expressed sincere expectations for its future development.

The clear theme of the conference highlights the determination and will of the canned food industry in Zhangzhou to embark on a new journey and strive for new heights. The China Canned Food Industry Association also congratulates the establishment of the new session of the Zhangzhou Canned Food Industry Chamber of Commerce. Under the leadership of Chairwoman Hong Yahong, it is believed that in this new journey, the development of Zhangzhou's canned food industry will reach new heights and take steps towards a brighter future!
