On December 12, the inaugural meeting of the Pet Food Sub-Association of the China Canned Food Industry Association took place successfully during the "2023 China Pet Industry Innovation Conference." Co-hosted by the China Canned Food Industry Association and the People's Government of Ganzhou City, the event aimed to propel innovation and flourishing development in China's pet industry.
Leading figures, including Chairman Liu Youqian of the China Canned Food Industry Association, Zhang Xiaolin, Deputy Chief Engineer of COFCO Nutrition and Health Research Institute and Director of the Animal Nutrition Center, Vice Chairman Chen Junxing of the China Canned Food Industry Association, and Chang Zhongping, President of the Shandong Pet Industry Association, along with approximately 90 other leaders and representatives attended the meeting. The session was presided over by Li Qing, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Canned Food Industry Association.
During the meeting, Liu Youqian presented the preparatory work report, outlining the background, necessity, and significance of establishing the sub-association. He also provided details about the preparation status and recommendations for the first board of directors and key personnel of the sub-association.
The meeting included the election of the first board of directors, president, and vice presidents for the Pet Food Sub-Association of the China Canned Food Industry Association.
In the voting process, 33 member units (including individuals) such as Yantai Zhongchong Pet Food Co., Ltd., Fujian Teddy Pet Food Co., Ltd., Zhongyu Pet Food Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Donglai Packaging Co., Ltd., and Taizhou Tongyi Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., were elected as the first board of directors. Liu Youqian was elected as the President of the first board of directors, and Dai Xiaofeng, Zhang Xiaolin, Hao Zhongli, Chen Junxing, and Chang Zhongping were elected as Vice Presidents.
Newly elected Vice Presidents Zhang Xiaolin and Chen Junxing presented their work ideas, key work reports, and an explanation of the composition of the Expert Committee of the Pet Food Sub-Association. The Expert Committee consists of 14 well-known experts and scholars in the industry, including Academician Xia Xianzhu of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Moving forward, the sub-association aims to enhance organizational structure, strengthen policy research, improve product quality and safety standards, expand international cooperation, and focus on talent development. Key efforts will be concentrated on establishing industry standards and regulations, promoting technological innovation and research and development, facilitating industry upgrades and sustainable development, fostering collaboration and exchange, enhancing brand image, maintaining market order, and serving member units.
This strategic focus is expected to further drive the development and standardization of the pet food industry, contributing significantly to the high-quality development of China's pet food sector.
