In recent days, Fujian Teddy Pet Food Co., Ltd., based in Zhangzhou, became the first enterprise in the region to secure registration with the European Union for pet food, according to information from Zhangzhou Customs.
The company, primarily engaged in the production of canned pet food, embarked on the export business for the first time this year in response to fluctuations in the domestic and international markets. Successfully venturing into the Southeast Asian market in September, the company has already cleared customs and released over four batches of pet food, valued at over one million yuan, in Malaysia and Indonesia.
To support enterprises in their international market expansion, Zhangzhou Customs actively leveraged its functional advantages. They provided timely guidance to the company by explaining the "Inspection and Quarantine Supervision Management Measures for Import and Export Feeds and Feed Additives," collected relevant legal requirements of the target export countries and regions, and guided the company in strengthening self-inspection, self-control, and safety and hygiene control. Zhangzhou Customs promptly facilitated the registration process for the company.
Adopting an individualized approach, Zhangzhou Customs collaborated with the company to formulate a targeted regulatory plan. This involved optimizing inspection and testing procedures, completing pre-export preparations in advance, and assisting the company in continually enhancing its international competitiveness.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to cover the successful international market expansion of Zhangzhou's pet food industry, marking a significant milestone for the region.
