Xiamen, China — Aug. 12, 2026 —— The field study tour of the Training Workshop on Innovative Storage, Fresh-Keeping and Circulation Technologies for Fruits and Vegetables under the Global Development Initiative came to a successful conclusion. Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and organized by the China Food Research Institute, three delegations of food industry officials and technical experts from 18 countries visited Zhongfan Food (SinoRice) and its subsidiary No.2 Zhongfan Factory to inspect modern processing, end-to-end cold chain preservation, and intelligent logistics lines, while exploring solutions to cut losses and expand international trade cooperation.

About SinoRice
SinoRice has long focused on intensive fruit and vegetable processing, post-harvest preservation, and full-spectrum cold chain distribution. As a leading demonstration enterprise in China, its specialized base — No.2 SinoRice Factory — forms a complete industrial chain covering raw produce sorting, physical preservation treatment, intelligent low-temperature warehousing, and standardized cold chain delivery. The enterprise has independently developed eco-friendly preservation and low-loss processing technologies, equipped with digital temperature-controlled workshops, aseptic lines, and automated sorting equipment to minimize post-harvest rot.
Supported by its in-house R&D laboratory, SinoRice continuously collaborates with domestic research institutes to upgrade new preservation materials and low-carbon circulation solutions. As a dedicated demonstration plant, No.2 Zhongfan Factory undertakes large-scale processing, customized overseas orders, and international visits. Its fully visible, standardized production lines showcase China’s agricultural modernization and serve as an official field training base designated by the Ministry of Commerce.

Hosting the International Technical Workshop
Rooted in the food security cooperation framework of the Global Development Initiative, this workshop addresses universal challenges plaguing the global fruit and vegetable industry: outdated preservation equipment, incomplete cold chain infrastructure, and high circulation loss rates in developing nations.
• Advance Global Food Security Cooperation: Exporting proven localized solutions for fruit and vegetable storage and cold chain logistics to help participating countries slash post-harvest agricultural losses and support the Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger.
• Build a South-South Industrial Exchange Platform: Facilitating technical dialogue among practitioners from 18 countries to share local challenges, exchange models, and develop replicable, cost-effective preservation schemes.
• Stimulate Cross-Border Trade Cooperation: Acting as a bridge to showcase China’s strengths in food processing and cold chain equipment, unlocking opportunities for joint technology R&D, trade, and co-built factories.
• Promote Green & Low-Carbon Industrial Philosophy: Sharing eco-friendly technologies, including physical preservation and preservative-free processing, to accelerate the green transformation of agricultural circulation.

Key Gains for International Delegates
During the tour across sorting workshops, low-temperature warehouses, aseptic deep-processing zones, and cold chain logistics hubs, international participants gained valuable practical insights:
1. Master Full-Chain Preservation Operational Workflows: Observing pre-cooling, controlled atmosphere storage, and grading operations to learn low-cost physical preservation methods for home implementation.
2. Draw Reference for Intelligent Factory Management: Utilizing automated sorting systems and real-time temperature monitoring platforms as templates to build or renovate processing facilities.
3. Acquire Cross-Border Circulation Solutions: Leveraging mature export cold chain systems and standardized quarantine procedures to overcome trade, loss, and compliance barriers.
4. Establish Long-Term Industrial Cooperation Ties: Holding one-on-one sessions to exchange demands, with multiple delegations expressing on-site interest in joint production facilities.
5. Deepen Recognition of Quality Control Systems: Studying stringent food safety management and full-lifecycle traceability to optimize domestic supervisory standards.
At the special workshop, experts from the China Food Research Institute elaborated cutting-edge technologies based on real industrial practices. Participants engaged in active discussions covering climate-differentiated preservation, smallholder solutions, and cross-border trade. Moving forward, SinoRice will continue relying on foreign exchange platforms to promote mature technical solutions and foster global food security.
